Coping with uncertain , tough times can leave anyone feeling vulnerable and edgy, and my family are no exception. In the last few months, they have expressed their feelings of uncertainty and fearfulness about the future. It is natural to be concerned when things around you are shifting and changing rapidly, such as the fuel prices have skyrocketed , groceries have increase and we are all hearing stories about home foreclosures and the gloomy stock markets . Don’t live in a state of panic when life throws us a curve . Be resilient and resourceful…. this means that, even if we don’t like change, learn to adapt to new situations and find new ways to deal with them. “You don’t have to be afraid of change. You don’t have to worry about what’s being taken away. Just look to see what’s been added.” Absorb a change in this way, you’ll handle change more easily and gracefully. Slow and regular has a lot more effect than sporadic and frantic .Rewrite personal history by laughing instead of cringing at past mistakes and being honest about the gaps or limitations of your current life. Now that you know what to fix, you can fix it . It is equally important to call upon your sense of humor too . A bit of laughter can help to lighten the load. Seek out reasons to laugh . Change is in the air after all. Get ready. Only you can decide who you are & can make the decision to be whoever you want to be. In fact, whether you know it or not, for better and for worse, you’re already doing just that! Have patience and remember to breathe. By giving yourself a moment to breathe deeply and LAUGH (occasionally), …. if you have difficulty finding them ….. looks for them in funny movies, comic television shows, or comedy routines by your favorite comedian. ! Putting on a happy face may actually make you feel better, which in turn helps you look better. So find something to smile at : a private joke, or have a conversation with a friend who makes you laugh. Scientific studies have shown that laughter is healing for both the body and mind and, as far as I know, nobody has died from laughter….choke , maybe . Hold on to your most precious possessions / goals . If you start becoming a slave to your routine or turn down activities because of a maintenance issue, it’s time to rethink your priorities. Clear emotional clutter or unrealistic expectations — save what you need and get rid of what you don’t need … Stay calm and focused you can pull it off with a little forethought. Don’t lose heart. Be original and precise when describing what you want. Listen to your intuition and gather information before you decide just what it is you want to change. Don’t take on more than is comfortable if you’re embarking on a potential possibilities ….or otherwise etc . Talking too much about making a change can also let the air out of your tires when it comes to actually making the change, so keep it quiet until you do it. A small change will give you a big boost . Timing is everything in love, life, work — and even beauty. The people you are closest to us can become your best support system . Building and maintaining solid and supportive relationships can make all the differences in how you weather global economic downfall ; sudden changes and in coping with life’s twists and turns that level roll with the punches and surprises .
